A bit more on Betanzos.

Betanzos is a lovely little town in Galicie, in the north of Spain. Somewhere in that part
above Portugal. The nearby Atlantic ocean gives the regio a climate with moderate winters
and summers that are never too hot. It rains a lot and the ever omnipresent humidity
makes the valley very green.
The place is the former capital of the kingdom of Galicie, but even if there was once a royal
palace, I couldn't find it.
Not yet spoiled by tourism, it has kept it's picturesque character. With it's old churches,
medieval streetplan and belfry, this town has several reasons to pay it a visit, if you would
ever be in the neighbourhood.
Just beside the belfry is a lovely café with an Art Deco interior. It's a part of a bigger building
that houses the local fine arts academy.
Visit the Igresia San Francisco with it's stunning architecture and sculptures, you won't be disappointed.
